2026 NZCMRR Classic Motorcycle Racing Festival Supplementary Regulations

1. ORGANISER:The meeting is organised by the New Zealand Classic Motorcycle Racing Register Inc. under Motorcycling New Zealand Permit no 21565 and in conjunction with any current Manfeild/Government requirements.
2. RULES:The meeting will be conducted under the Manual of Motorcycle Sport of MNZ, the Technical Rules pertaining to the Classic Register and these supplementary Regulations.
3. REFUSAL OF ENTRY:Organisers reserve the right to accept or decline any entry into any class.
4. ENTRY FEES:Entry fees are as follows:
   1. $510 for Seniors of MNZ Affiliated Clubs
   2. $455 for current NZCMRR members
   3. Free for Junior riders (under 18s). Must be an NZCMRR member
   4. $280 for any member riding ONLY a Group 3 machine (Vintage, Prewar, Pre-63 and Classic 70s 0-250cc) that has not been run at any NZCMRR event in the last 12 months
   5. $330 for Regularity
   6. $295 for NZCMRR member South Island entrants
   7. $350 for non-NZCMRR member South Island entrants 

5. OTHER MERCHANDISE: Extra event passes, event shirts, competitor plaques and caps are available at discounted rates through the on-line entry form. Event tickets (2 weekend passes for a solo entrant and 3 for a sidecar entrant), vehicle pit pass, riders info sheets will be mailed out to entrants prior to the event.  An event programme will be given to competitors at sign-on along with any pre-ordered merchandise.
6. RACE GROUPS:  We will be running 8 Race Groupsand 1 Regularity/Parade Group. Race Groups will be limited to 40 bikes on grid. Race groups and order is subject to change at the discretion of officials and the Race Committee however preferential grouping and order is as follows:
   1. RACE GROUP 1:Classic 500 - 351-500cc - Pre '63 Clubman’s, Factory Racing & Modified and Classic 70's 500 (4 laps standard - 6 laps for the Trophy round)
   2. RACE GROUP 2:Post Classic Senior - P82 Senior, P89 F1, P95 Superbike, P95 F1 (6 laps standard - 8 laps for the Trophy round)
   3. RACE GROUP 3:Vintage, Pre War & Classic 250 - Pre '31 Vintage, Pre War Pre '46 350, 500 & Open, 0-250cc Pre '63 Clubman’s, Factory Racing & Modified and Classic 70's 250 (4 laps standard - 6 laps for the Trophy round)
   4. RACE GROUP 4:Post Classic F2 - P89 F2, P95 F2 (6 laps standard - 8 laps for the Trophy round)
   5. RACE GROUP 5:Sidecars - Pre '63, Classic 70's, Pre '82 (4 laps standard - 6 laps for the Trophy round)
   6. RACE GROUP 6:Post Classic Junior - P82 Junior, P89 F3. P95 F3 (6 laps standard - 8 laps for the Trophy round)
   7. RACE GROUP 7:Classic Open - 501cc-Open - Pre '63 Open Modified, Classic 70's Open (4 laps standard - 6 laps for the Trophy round)
   8. RACE GROUP 8:Classic 350 - 251-350cc - Pre '63 Clubmans, Factory Racing & Modified and Classic 70's 350 (4 laps standard - 6 laps for the Trophy round)
   9. GROUP 9:Regularity (3 timed laps standard - 4 timed laps for Trophy round)
7. PITS:All spit spaces and garages will be allocated by the NZCMRR as per the attached Pit plan.
8. ENTRY PROCESS:Entries will be opened as soon as the MNZ permit is approved.  An email to members will then be sent out. Entries will close on December 20, 2025. If there is any difficulty completing and paying online, the race secretary can be contacted at race@nzcmrr.com or 0276715187. Race groups will be capped at 40 entries.  After that date late entries, with a $50 Admin fee, may be accepted at the discretion of the Race Secretary, providing there is room on the grid. Any entries received outside of the open-entry window will not be included in the printed programme. 
9. CROSS ENTERING A BIKE IS PROHIBITED:A bike can only be entered into one Race class and group.  Entrants are welcome to bring multiple bikes.
10. OVERSUBSCRIBED GRIDS/WAITLISTED ENTRANTS:Race Group Entries will be capped at the first 40 entries received. For any race groups where more than 40 entries occur, entry will be granted on a first-come first-served basis. Any additional entries will be notified about their field being oversubscribed. If they choose to be waitlisted, they will be allowed to take part in their nominated race groups practice/qualifying to allow the Steward to make a decision as to where they can be gridded, when they get the opportunity to compete in their nominated race group.  Until then they will be allowed to run the Regularity/Parade Group 9.  Partial refunds for waitlisted entrants will be decided as follows at the discretion of the race secretary:
    1. If a waitlisted rider fills a vacancy on the Saturday, then they are not eligible for any refund.
    2. If a waitlisted rider fills a vacancy on the Sunday and ran Regularity only on the Saturday, they will be refunded $150.
    3. If a vacancy is not available for a waitlisted rider, then they will be refunded the difference between their entry and the standard Regularity entry price. If a vacancy is not available for a waitlisted rider, then they will be refunded the difference between their entry and the standard Regularity entry price. 

Where a field is oversubscribed and the race event is underway, any entrant that withdraws due to machine failure and yields their spot to an entrant on the wait list may qualify for a partial refund at the discretion of the Race Secretary. Factors considered will include whether there is someone to replace them, and how far through the event they withdraw. 

11. REFUNDS: Prior to the meeting, any entrant will be given a refund on his/her entry fee if for any reason attendance over the weekend is not possible once their riders pack, with passes etc, has been returned. Notification is required in writing or email to the Race Secretary prior to the event. If an entrant fails to notify the race secretary until after the closing of sign-on, refunds will only be granted at the discretion of the Committee and Race Secretary. Any merchandise or items that are ordered in advance by the club (i.e. plaques, T-shirts, meal tickets) are non-refundable.
12. SIGN-ON: Entrants are to bring helmet, MNZ licence and proof of MNZ Affliated club membership (if not an NZCMRR member).  
13. LICENCE:An MNZ competition licence is compulsory. One-event MNZ licences can be pre-purchased with your entry.  Availability of extra one-event licenses, at Sign-on, will be limited and may incur a surcharge, at the discretion of the race secretary.
14. CLUB MEMBERSHIP:Membership of an MNZ affiliated club is compulsory. Current NZCMRR members do not need to show proof of membership as evidence will be supplied to the Steward on your behalf, however non-members must provide proof of membership with their license. If a non-member is unable to provide proof of membership of another MNZ affiliate club, they must then purchase an NZCMRR membership in the Race Office.
15. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITORS: International competitors will not be able to run at this event unless they have fulfilled all MNZ requirements and have a current MNZ License. 
16. RACE NUMBERS:NZCMRR allocate it's members race numbers.  In the event of duplicate race numbers the NZCMRR competitor has the right of use of that number and you will be contacted.
17. BIKE CHECK/MACHINE EXAMINATION:All machines must pass bike check and be stickered prior to going out on track. All bikes shall comply with MoMs rule 6.28 MNZ MoMs Chapter 6. Solo Bikes must also comply with MoMs Chapter 10 MoMs Chapter 10 Motorcycles Technical and Sidecars also with MoMs Chapter 18 MoMs Chapter 18 Sidecars
18. GEAR CHECK: Chest/back protectors and riding gear will be checked by pit exit crew before competitors can enter the circuit. 
19. CRASH PROCEDURE: A rider/machine involved in any crash must have their bike, medical and then gear signed off, by the appropriate people, before being allowed back on track. Crashed bikes will be taken initially to the Bike Check shed where they will be released to the rider, along with the check form which must be completed by bike check and medical before taking to the steward for gear check and approval to race again.
20. PRACTICE/QUALIFYING: All practice and qualifying is to take place on the Saturday. Each qualifying session will be 10 minutes in duration. Only Race Groups 1-8 will take part in Practice/Qualifying.
21. FAILURE TO QUALIFY: If an entrant fails to qualify and still wants to compete, they should:
    1. If they are prepared to start from the back of the grid for the weekend - notify the Race Secretary who will get you added to the next available grid position.
    2. If they wish to be promoted within the grid they must, before the completion of the practice/qualifying see a riders rep who will, if appropriate, take your request to the Steward before the Grids are published.
22. GRID POSITIONS: Grid positions will be allocated after practice/qualifying and will remain the same throughout the event. Any changes to grids over the course of the weekend where vacancies are filled by waitlisted riders will be communicated to riders before the next race.  The onus is on the rider to remember their transponder and cross the start finish line at least twice, to register a qualifying time and obtain a grid position.  The weekend’s grid positions/ layout plan will be displayed with the timing results in the sign-on room after practice/qualifying and results can be viewed at marktime.co.nz. A 20 second penalty will be applied to anyone found to be lining up, at the start, in someone else's grid position. 
23. CHAMPIONSHIP RACE ROUNDS:All championship rounds are to be 4 laps for Classic bikes, and 6 laps for Post Classic bikes. A warm-up/sighting lap may be run at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course or Steward, if deemed necessary, where track conditions may have changed. 
24. REGULARITY/PARADE: This event is open to solo machines only and is designed to allow non-racing members, or members with a parade bike, the opportunity to circulate on the racetrack. Entrants can ride either a racing machine which could be loaned for the event by a race entrant, or a suitable road machine. Regularity/Parade is run under the general MNZ rules and require a competition licence, along with approved leathers, back protector, chest protector, helmet, gloves and boots and transponders are mandatory.  Facility to pre-pay for a one event licence and transponder is included on the event entry form. Regularity riders will not run take part in the Practice/Qualifying round as the event commences from pit lane with timing commencing on their first crossing of the Start Finish line.  Finishing places will be awarded based on the most consistent lap times.

All machines in the regularity parade must be presented for bike check and receive an inspection sticker before being let out on track. A minimum of one clearly legible number plate facing forward at the front of the bike is required, if there is an issue with the nominated bike number you will be contacted.  Road bikes will need to have their sump plugs lock wired, mirror(s) removed, any glass (headlight, taillight, etc.) either removed or taped over. Side or centre stands must be lock wired when out on track or otherwise removed.  These events are not races and unsuitable riding will result in exclusion.  The NZCMRR Race Secretary reserves the right to accept or reject any rider or machine from this event as they see fit. 25. CLASSIC FESTIVAL TROPHY RACES: Will be held in the second round of racing.  Classic Race Groups 1,3, 5, 7 & 8 will be 6 laps and Post Classic Race Groups 2, 4, & 6 will be 8 laps. 
26. EXITING PIT LANE: Pit Exit under the one-way system is located at the far end of the control tower. Competitors shall only exit the pits to the circuit under the control of a Pit lane official and via the pit lane exit only. Competitors found to be riding the wrong way up or down Pit Lane may be fined or excluded from the meeting. 
27. ENTERING PIT LANE/RED FLAG: Entry to the Pit Lane is on the LH side at the start of the front straight. Competitors must move to the far left of the circuit and reduce speed and signal their intention to leave the track without impeding other competitors in the process. Under RED FLAG conditions a dangerous situation IS created at this track if riders cross the race line to enter PIT LANE before ALL riders have stopped racing. If they have not already moved to the left of the track and slowed they must continue around the circuit again.  Once committed to entering Pit lane and a competitor has crossed to the inside of the entry blend lines that competitor MUST enter Pit Lane. Entry to the pit lane may also occur only under direction of the track Marshalls via the infield slip road just prior to the infield hairpin.
28. PRE-RACE PROCEDURE:The Clerk of the Course will give a 5 and 2 minute call before each race, signalling the time before pit exit will be opened. The track entry gate will open for 30 seconds. Any competitors arriving after this time will start from track entry at the direction of the track entry marshal.
29. NOISE EMISSION: Circuit noise regulations as provided for under Rule 10-6d. All machines are to be effectively silenced so as not to exceed 95dB(A) "ride by" measured by the official meter mounted 30m from the track centre line. Machines registering consistently in excess of 95dB (A) will be brought to the attention of the officials for action to be taken as follows: Exceeding 95 but not exceeding 98dB(A): On the first offence during the meeting the rider will be warned that this has occurred and instructed to rectify the situation. For second and subsequent infringements the machine will be black flagged from the race or practice without further warning. Exceeding 98dB(A): The machine will be black flagged from the race or practice without warning. If circumstances don’t allow the machine to be black flagged, the competitor may then be excluded from the results of that practice or race. During the event the club may post lists of machines and their noise readings to assist competitor’s efforts in complying with these limits.
30. ALCOHOL/SMOKING/VAPING: No alcohol, smoking or vaping in the pits while bikes are still on the circuit.
31. ANIMALS/PETS: No pets are permitted within the circuit during racing.
32. INTERNET: For 1GB of data per month per device connect to the network "inspirefreewifi" throughout the venue.
